DAYTON, Ohio - The IPFW men's soccer team faced off against the Dayton Flyers, currently receiving votes in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) National Poll, and the Flyers scored three times in the first 30 minutes, as the Mastodons fell 4-1.

The Mastodons (0-7) had 10 shots in the game, four on goal, and one - from the foot of freshman Corey Tom - finding the back of the net.

Dayton (6-1) scored in the 11th, 20th, and 29th minute of the game, running out to a quick 3-0 lead less than 30 minutes into the contest.

The Flyers added their fourth and final goal of the game in the 65th minute, before Steven L'Esperence found Tom who put the ball into the back of the net at the far post to end the shutout bid for Dayton.

Brandon Cloutier had 11 saves for IPFW while giving up the four goals. Two players, Kyle Ackerman and Mitch Falkenstern each had two shots to lead the 'Dons, with Falkenstern, Tom, Sotirios Lyrintzis, and Anthony Pritchett each putting a shot on goal.

The Mastodons return home to face off against the Xavier Musketeers on Tuesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
