IPFW Travels to Dayton for Second Try at Wright State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On September 7 the Mastodons and Raiders started their match; however, lightning intervened, and the game was postponed, rescheduled for today, September 24 in Dayton, Ohio.

FAST START
This season the Mastodons have reached four wins quicker than any other squad in program history, needing just eight games to accomplish the feat. The previous record was 10 set in 2003 and 2010 while the 2004 and 2011 squad needed 11 matches for their fourth win.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Mastodons have never bested the Raiders in any of their previous seven meetings, with Wright State holding a 6-0-1 lead in the all-time series. The first meeting between the two teams came in 2002, a 4-3 WSU win in Fort Wayne, and the subsequent scores have been 3-0 (2003), 1-0 (2004), 2-1 (2005), 2-0 (2006), 3-0 (2008), and a 1-1 tie in the most recent meeting in Fort Wayne in 2009.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Wright State comes into this meeting having won two in a row with a 2-0 win at home against Morehead State and a 1-0 double overtime win at Milwaukee.
Leading the offense has been Emilie Fillion who has four goals and 10 total poitns, while Ini Umotong and Ashley Miltko have three goals apiece. Sarah Gross leads the team with three assists, while four players - Fillion, Umotong, Kalee Thompson, and Amy Anderson - each have two helpers.
Defensively Brooke McCurdy has been in goal for 956 of 980 total minutes for the team this year, and has a 0.75 goals against average with 43 saves and four shutouts.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW has won three their last four games, including a win over regionally ranked Miami (Ohio) on September 14 and a 3-0 win over Goshen College on September 20.
This year the squad has three players who have two goals scored, Danielle Bishop, Erin Gill, and Sydney Hoareau. Tylar Allison, who is one assist away from tying the school career record in the category, has a team-best two helpers this year, as four others - Bishop, Rachel Good, Tessa Edwards, and Rhea Proctor - have one assist each.
Defensively Sam Pavlika leads the squad with a 0.73 goals against average - second best in the Summit League - with a pair of shutouts and 37 saves, having been in goal for the entire season for the Mastodons.
