
Mastodons Card Season Low at Cleveland State

FINAL RESULTS
AURORA, Ohio - The IPFW Mastodons carded a season-low 298 team score, as the Mastodons close play at the 2013 Cleveland State Invitatioano, hosted at Barrington C.C.
IPFW's 298 is four strokes better than the 302 the team shot in the first round of the SIU Derek Donenc Invitational. The Mastodon team total gave the squad a three-round score of 930, nine strokes away from Butler's 921. Cincinnati carded a three-round score of 835 to win the team title, as Cleveland State placed second with an 863. Evansville (869), Loyola (869), Detroit (869), Appalachian State (873), Oakland (880), Youngstown State (886), Wright State (890), Dayton (896), and Robert Morris (912) rounded out the teams in the field.
Jacob Groninger carded a three-under par 69 on the final day of the tournament to give him a three-round score of 226, good for a tie of 37th place in the field. Carter Dornseif - who for the third consecutive round had the team's second-lowest score - carded a 74 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 230, tying for 50th overall.
Oliver Gibson's final round 75 put him at 234, tying for 62nd, as Logan Barker rounded out the scoring four for the Mastodons on the last day with an 80. David Watterson carded a three-round total of 244 (82-78-84), tying for 73rd, while Barker's tournament total of 256 was tied for the 78th best score.
Playing as an individual, Dan Wert shot an even-par 72 in the final round, putting him at a 54-hole total of 228 (77-79-72), tied for 43rd in the field.
The Mastodons return to action on October 7 and 8 when the team competes in the UT Martin Skyhawk Classic.
