Cross Country Set to Host 2013 Summit League Championships

CHAMPIONSHIPS CENTRAL
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons are set to host the 2013 Summit League Championships at the Hefner Sports Complex, on the campus of IPFW. The men's race will start at 11 a.m. with the women's race to follow at noon.

IPFW, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omah (women's team only), South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Western Illinois.
LAST TIME OUT - MEN
Behind a season-best time of 26:24 from sophomore Jordan Holloman, the IPFW Mastodons placed 20th at the Bradley Cross Country Classic.
IPFW totaled 593 points through its first five places, beating out Murray State on the sixth-place finisher (Paul Smith), while out-distancing Green Bay's 613. Host Bradley won the event with 82 points, and was followed by Wichita State (100) and Northern Iowa (116).
Holloman's time of 26:24 placed him 136th in the field, while Taylor Crowell finished just behind in 153rd place crossing the finish line in a time of 26:39. Chris Rudolph - the reigning Summit League Runner of the Week - placed 172nd in a time of 27:02.
Randy McComb led off a stretch of three straight 'Dons crossing the finish line, finishing the 8,000-meters in a time of 27:10, placing 177th. Freshman John Yandl placed 178th in a time of 27:11 to close out the scoring five for the Mastodons. Smith took 179th overall in a time of 27:12, and was the deciding place to push IPFW to a 20th place finish - taking sixth for IPFW.
Evan Boucher rounded out the Mastodon top seven with a time of 28:03, placing 202nd, while Garret Gleckler (213rd/28:56), Brandon Perry (214th/28:59), Ryan Curtis (219th/29:31), and Tim Saltys (226th/31:44) rounded out the Masotdons in the field.
LAST TIME OUT - WOMEN
For the second straight week, the IPFW women's cross country team had a slim pack time between its first and fifth finishers (18 seconds total), as the squad placed 12th among 24 teams in the squad's final tune-up before the 2013 Summit League Championships.
IPFW's 347 points put them just behind Northern Illinois (343), and ahead of Northern Iowa, Murray State, Western Michigan, Milwaukee, Illinois, Creighton, DePaul, Illinois State "B", Valparaiso, SIU Edwardsville, Green Bay, and Western Illinois.
Tiffany Rauch edged out teammate Julie Jeszenszky, each running a time of 22:21 for the 6,000-meters, with Rauch placing 67th to Jeszenszky's 68. Brittany Beard took 75th overall in a time of 22:24, while Rachel Zachar placed 88th in 22:33. Senior Kayla Boyes placed 99th overall as IPFW's fifth finisher in a time of 22:39.
Amaya Ayers was the team's sixth finisher, placing 119th overall in a time of 22:48, as Jordan Tomecek took seventh on the squad in a time of 23:19, and 159th overall. Andrea Bell (168th/23:27), Katie Simmons (189th/23:50), Emma Manchess (216th/24:35), Rachel Kacer (221st/24:49), and Alexa Brown (225th/24:56) rounded out the runners in the field.
