Women's Basketball to Host Grace as Part of IPFW Fitness Day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team will get an early start for their game against Grace (IN) College, as the two teams take to the Gates Sports Center floor November 20 at 11:30 a.m. The game will be the part of the 2nd annual IPFW Fitness Day Challenge and precede the men's game against Purdue-Calumet at 7:00 p.m.
As part of the IPFW Fitness Day Challenge, the Mastodons have teamed up with Fort Wayne Community Schools, Chase Bank, WANE TV, Federated Media and Fred Toenges to welcome in over 375 elementary students from FWCS to participate in athletic related stations in the in the IPFW Fieldhouse prior to the women's game to encourage students to stay active in their everyday life.

Grace enters the week dropping their previous four games including two to NAIA nationally ranked teams in Purdue- Calumet and St. Xavier. The Lancers entered the season ranked 20th in the preseason NAIA Division II coaches poll after finishing last season with a 19-17 record and earning the program's first berth into the NAIA National Championships.
Grace is led by NAIA Second Team All-American Juaneice Jackson who enters the game averaging 21.4 points per game including dropping 30 on Trinity Christian on November 2 and scoring at least 20 points in three other contests. She needs just 188 points to become Grace's all-time leading scorer.
The Lancers also have Allison Kauffman who is averaging almost 16 points and 8 rebounds per game. She has scored in double-figures in each of Grace's games this season and pulled double at least 10 boards in three games.

IPFW leads the all-time series with Grace 11-2. The 'Dons have won the last eight meetings dating back to the 1981 season, with the last five meetings taking place at home.
