Mastodons to Face Summit City Foe Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team returns home after a four-game road swing to take on fellow Summit City school Indiana Tech on December 11 at 7 p.m. The 'Dons will look to end a two-game skid against a Warriors team they have not faced since 2010.

Scouting the Warriors
Indiana Tech is coming off an overtime win over Siena Heights, 69-67 and have won its last three games. Tech has already faced two NAIA teams ranked in the top-25 in Saint Francis and Grace, defeating the then #20 Grace 86-70. The 'Dons defeated that same Grace team two weeks later 99-54. The Warriors faced another Division I team earlier in the season, falling to Chicago State 74-51.
The Warriors have four players whom average double-digits, led by senior Rachael Kruse at 18.9 points per game. Chelsea Carradine, Ulyssia Richmond and Sabine Filippovica all average at least 10.6 points a game. Carradine nearly averages a double-double, pulling down 9.2 rebounds a game.

Indiana Tech holds a 13-10 all-time lead, but IPFW has won the last three meetings and six of the last seven. The Mastodons have averaged 98 points in the two most recent meetings, winning 92-35 in 2009 and 104-60 in 2010. As just a freshman in the 2010 game, Amanda Hyde scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds as Stephanie Rosado scored 31 points for IPFW. The 'Dons are 8-8 all-time at home against Indiana Tech, winning five of the last six at the Gates Sports Center.
