BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team carded a final-round 303, moving them to 10th in the strong field of 18 at the NYX Hoosier Invitational.

IPFW's three-round score of 888 put them nine strokes behind Ohio for fifth place for the tournament. Indiana's 850 took first in the field, with Illinois State (855), Michigan (865), Miami (867), Ohio (879), Indiana "B" (881), Toledo (883), SIU Edwardsville (886), and Oakland (886) finished ahead of the 'Dons. Youngstown State (893), Detroit (893), Evansville (894), Western Illinois (898), Dayton (905), Butler (907), Wright State (915), and IUPUI (922) filled in behind the Mastodons.

IPFW's third round was led by Drew Imel who carded a three-over 74, giving him 229 for the three rounds, tied for 57th in the field. Bruno Carvalho's 75 was second-best on the team, while Jacob Groninger shot a 76, Dan Wert a 78, and Oliver Gibson 79.

Leading the Mastodons for the cumulative three rounds was Groninger, who had a 217, placing in a tie for 16th in the field, whle Bruno Carvalho's 219 saw him finish in a tie for 20th. Imel and Wert shot matching 229's, tying for 57th, whle Oliver Gibson shot a 232, tying for 73rd.

The Mastodons return to action in a week at the Tennessee State Big Blue Intercollegiate, hosted at Hermitage Golf and Country Club in Nashville, Tenn.
