SCOUTING THE BISON
North Dakota State comes into the game having won nine of its last 10 games, with the only loss coming to third ranked Ohio State. Among the six wins include a win at Notre Dame on December 11.
In the team's most recent game, a 96-45 win over Mayville State, the Bison did not trail in the game, scoring first 18 seconds into the game and leading wire-to-wire. Four players reached double-figure scoring, led by 30 points from Mike Felt who hit 6-of-11 from long range. Carlin Dupree scored 13, Marshall Bjorklund scored 11, and Dexter Werner chipped in 10 in the win.
This season the Bison have four regulars averaging double-figure scoring, and a fifth - Werner - averaging 11.0 points per game despite only playing in two lopsided wins.
Taylor Braun, who missed the last game for the Bison, leads the team by averaging 18.9 points per game. Bjorklund puts in 15.0 points per contest, while Lawrence Alexander (10.9) and TrayVonn Wright (10.4) also averaging more than 10.0 points per game.
Wright pulls down 5.0 rebounds per game to lead the team, as NDSU has four players who have between 75 and 61 rebounds this year. Braun has dished out a team-best 55 assists, with Alexander dishing out 43. Wright nearly averages two blocked shots per game with 27 on the year, as Braun leads the team with 26 steals.
GAME OF ACCURACY
The game against North Dakota State features two of the top eight teams in the country in terms of field goal percentage, as NDSU stands fourth in the country, shooting 51.7% from the field, and IPFW eighth at 49.8%. Additionally, NDSU's Marshall Bjorklund leads the country in individual field goal percentage, hitting 68.1 percent of his shots. IPFW's Steve Forbes sits second in the Summit League with a field goal percentage of 65.2 which would rank fourth in the country; however, the redshirt junior has not made enough field goals. To be eligible for the NCAA rankings, players have to average five made field goals per games played. Forbes is 73-of-112, but with 17 games played, needed to have 85 made field goals to qualify.
