Mastodons Sit in 12th Place After Day One Of Kenny Perry Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - With the first 36 holes of the Kenny Perry Invitational in the books, the IPFW men's golf team sits in 12th place with a team score of 631.
Hosted by Western Kentucky at The Club at Olde Stone, the par-72 invitational is being played at 7,100 yards. Atop the team leaderboard is Lipscomb with a day one score of 584. Dawson Armstrong also of Lipscomb ends the first two rounds with a five-stroke lead, carding a 7-under-par 137.
As a team, the Mastodons combined for 11 birdies and one eagle.
IPFW is led by Drake Devereux who shot a season-low 4-over-par 76 in the second round to finish the day in a tie for 39th place at 154. In round two, David Watterson recorded the only eagle by any player in the tournament, which came on the par-4, 331-yard No. 14. Watterson went on to finish the day in a tie for 56th with a 36-hole score of 160. Oliver Gibson and Devin Jenkins are separated by only one stroke, shooting rounds of 162 and 163, respectively. Jenkins led IPFW on the day with four birdies and is tied for 63rd. Rounding out the scoring for the Mastodons in 65th place is Daniel Shepard with a one-day total of 164.
The final round of the Kenny Perry Invitational will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. on October 14.
