Men's Cross Country Packs Together Well for Strong Summit Finish

FARGO, N.D. - The IPFW men's cross country top five finished within seven scoring places of each other, and that strong pack finish helped the Mastodons to a sixth place finish at the 2014 Summit League Championships.
Led by junior Jordan Holloman, who finished 32nd overall in the field, the squad earned 181 points for the sixth place finish, ahead of Western Illinois' 189 points. Oral Roberts finished just ahead of the Mastodons with 157 points.
Holloman ran a time of 28:03.4 to lead the Mastodons for the first time this season, finishing 38th overall in the field. Garret Gleckler took 41st overall in a time of 28:34.5, with Gabe O'Keefe taking 44th in 28:51.6.
IPFW's Unger twins, Bret and Kurt placed 45th and 46th, each in times of 29:12.0 and 29:20.3, respectively to round out the scoring five for the Mastodons. Ryan Curtis (29:44.5 / 48th) and Paul Sm ith (29:51.8 / 49th) rounded out the seven Mastodons in the field.
After a weekend off of competition, the squad travels to Madison, Wisconsin, to compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
