IPFW to Face South Dakota in Summit League Quaterfinals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The IPFW women's volleyball team opens postseason play at the Summit League Volleyball Championships on Friday, November 21 at IUPUI's "The Jungle" in Indianapolis, Ind. The sixth-seeded Mastodons will face the third-seeded Coyotes of South Dakota in a 7 p.m. quarterfinals match. The winner will move on to face second-seeded IUPUI in the Semifinals on Saturday, November 22 at 7 p.m.

Spencer had been chasing Edina Begic of UALR all season, after beginning the year trailing by 121. Spencer was one just six juniors in the top 50 active kill leaders at the end of the 2013 season.

Emily Spencer has run her consecutive matches in double-digit kills to 53, a program record. Spencer's streak began on Sept. 17, 2013 against Eastern Michigan. She eclipsed former Mastodon Fabiana Souza's mark of 26 straight from Nov. 15, 2002 through Oct. 18, 2003. Spencer also had a streak of 24 matches to begin her career during the 2011 season. She also previously had a 23 consecutive match streak from Sept. 18, 2012 through Sept. 4, 2013.
Double Century Club...
On November 16, 2013 at home against North Dakota State, Emily Spencer became the 8th player in school history to amass 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Kendall Wienkes needs 44 kills to join the club.
