Seibert's 32 Points Leads Mastodons In Exhibition Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team led from the opening tip of its exhibition game, defeating Goshen 98-65.
Haley Seibert led all players with 32 points on 12-of-15 shooting, including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. She also made a game-high four steals and dished out three assists. Brett Green scored 16 points off the bench for the Mastodons on 7-of-11 shooting. In her first college game, Keanna Gary added in 12 points and tied for the team lead with six rebounds.
Courtney Ogle made a game-high three blocks to go along with nine points for IPFW. Rachel Rinehart and Kamilah Carter each score six points for the 'Dons. In all, 11 different Mastodon players scored in the game.
After winning the opening tip, Mur Hagerman drove to the basket and scored a layup as she was fouled to give IPFW a three-point lead, after making the ensuing free throw. Midway through the opening half the Mastodons made an 18-5 run as they led 50-29 at halftime.
IPFW's largest lead of the game came in the second half on the heels of a 21-9 run, pushing the lead to 81-49 with 8:59 to play. For the game, the 'Dons turned 27 Goshen turnovers into 32 points. The Mastodon's bench out-scored the Maple Leafs 42-3.
As a team the Mastodons shot 37-of-73 (50.7%) from the floor, 12-of-28 (42.9%) from the three-point line, and 12-of-17 (70.6%) at the charity stripe.
IPFW begins its regular season schedule with a trip to face Big Ten opponent Illinois on November 14 at 4 p.m.
