FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's volleyball team wraps up the home portion of its Summit League schedule with a pair of matches against South Dakota State and Omaha. The Mastodons face the Jackrabbits on November 7 at 7 p.m. before hosting senior night on November 8 against Omaha at 7 p.m.

Spencer Earns Ninth Career POW Honor...
Emily Spencer was named The Summit League's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performances Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
Spencer captures her ninth career Offensive Player of the Week award and second of the season after averaging more kills and points per set than the NCAA leader last week. The senior outside hitter opened the weekend with 23 kills and a .300 hitting percentage in the four-set loss to then league-leader South Dakota. She topped that performance in Sunday's sweep over Oral Roberts with 24 kills and only two errors in 27 attempts for a .468 clip. Her 24 kills tied the school record for kills in a three-set match. The Jenison, Michigan, native also extended her school-record to 48 consecutive matches with double-digit kills. On the week, Spencer averaged 6.71 kills per set, 0.67 more than the NCAA leader, and 7.21 points per set, 0.54 better than the NCAA leader. She tallied a .374 hitting percentage with 47 kills, 17 digs, three blocks, two service aces and one assist.
Spencer Keeps going...and going...and going...
Emily Spencer has run her consecutive matches in double-digit kills to 48, a program record. Spencer's streak began on Sept. 17, 2013 against Eastern Michigan. She eclipsed former Mastodon Fabiana Souza's mark of 26 straight from Nov. 15, 2002 through Oct. 18, 2003. Spencer also had a streak of 24 matches to begin her career during the 2011 season. She also previously had a 23 consecutive match streak from Sept. 18, 2012 through Sept. 4, 2013.

Not only is Emily Spencer climbing the IPFW career rankings in kills, she also currently ranks 2nd among all active women's volleyball players with 1,989 kills. Her total trails only Edina Begic of UALR. Spencer was one just six juniors in the top 50 active kill leaders at the end of the 2013 season.
