Men's Golf Finishes 8th at First Spring Event

SANTEE, Calif. - On the final day of the Carlton Parks WIU Invitational, the IPFW men's golf team shot their lowest round of the tournament, 330, to finish with a three-round total 1,004 to place eighth.
Hosted by Western Illinois, the event was a 54-hole stroke play event held at the Carlton Oaks Golf Course. The par-72 course was played at 7,117 yards. Omaha took home the team title with a two-day total of 934. James Holley of San Diego State won the individual medalist honors with a 4-over-par 220 for the tournament.
Jacob Groninger?led the Mastodons in all three rounds, closing out the final round with a tournament-low 77, finishing with a three-round total of 236 and finish in a tie for 13th. Dan Wert finished in a tied for 28th after carding an 83 in the final round to finish with a two-day total of 246.
Carter Dornseif finished in a tie for 41st with a score of 259 while Oliver Gibson finished the two days with a score of 265 to finish 47th. Rounding out the team scoring for the 'Dons was Drake Devereux, finishing in a tie for 48th with a two-day score of 269.
Playing as an individual for the Mastodons was Devin Jenkins who tied for 37th with a three-round score of 252.
