Sellan and Rivera Lead 'Dons In Sweep Over Quincy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's volleyball team made it a season sweep over MIVA conference rival Quincy, taking down the Hawks in straight sets, 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 27-25).
Andrew Sellan led the Mastodons on the night hitting .632 with 14 kills and six digs. Eddie Rivera chipped in 13 kills and had a match-high seven digs and three aces. Ramon Burgos contributed nine kills as IPFW hit a combined .386 from the floor on the night.

Quincy held the early lead in the opening set, but with the score tied 5-5, the 'Dons made an 11-4 run to put the set away. As a team, IPFW hit .538 in the frame.
In the second set, Quincy held a three-point lead at 11-8, but the 'Dons used an 8-2 advantage to gain the lead at 16-13. The Hawks cut the lead to one at 19-18, but three consecutive points by the Mastodons helped give IPFW the set.
An early 4-1 lead for IPFW couldn't hold up in the third set as Quincy knotted the score at 6-6. Neither team was able to breakaway, exchanging four leads in the set, including 11 tie scores. With IPFW leading 20-19, Quincy scored four consecutive points, forcing the Mastodons to call a timeout. The 'Dons came out of the timeout on a 4-1 run, tying the score at 24-24. After exchanging points, a kill from IPFW's Bryan Saunders and a Quincy attack error sealed the Mastodon victory.
IPFW returns to action for its season finale tomorrow night, April 12, at 7 p.m. for Senior Night against Lindenwood.
