Men's Golf 12th After First Round of NYX Hoosier Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team wrapped up its first day at the NYX Hoosier Invitational in 12th place after 36 holes, carding scores of 296-301-597.
Hosted by Indiana University at the par-71 IU Golf Course, the tournament is being played at 6,813 yards. Michigan has a one-stroke lead after the first two rounds with a team score of 567. Reed Hrynewich also of Michigan sits atop the individual leaderboard, finishing the day at 4-under-par 138.
Leading the way for IPFW was Jacob Groninger and Devin Jenkins who are tied for 41st place after two rounds with scores for 149. Jenkins' second round score for 73 was a season-best.
Carter Dornseif sits in a tie for 52nd after day one, shooting a 151. In a tie for 55th are Daniel Shepard and Drake Devereux, carding scores of 152 on the day. Devereux fired a team-best 1-over-par 72 in the first round, which was also a personal season-best. Shepard tied a season-best, shooting a 74 in the opening session.
The final round of the NYX Hoosier Invitational will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on April 13.
