Mastodons Fall 2-0 at Central Michigan
9/19/2014 6:56:00 PM | Women's Soccer
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The IPFW women's soccer team headed to Central Michigan looking for its first road win of the season, but that feat continued to elude them as they fell 2-0 to the Chippewas on Friday afternoon at the CMU Soccer Complex.
Senior Laura Gosse showed why she has led the Chippewas in scoring the last two years as she tallied the only two goals in the game to give the home team the win. The forward found the back of the net in the 18th and 28th minutes to notch her fifth and six goals of the season, respectively.
Freshman Taylor Pavlika collected a team-high three shots for the Mastodons on the day, while Tessa Edwards, Rachel Good, Kennedy Williams and Kat Sutherly all registered one shot a piece.
Junior goalkeeper Sam Pavlika played all 90 minutes in the net, grabbing four saves in the game to bring her season total to 52.
The lady 'Dons conclude the weekend slate at home on Sunday, September 19 as they host Loyola of Chicago. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. and is the latter part of a double header at Hefner Field, with the IPFW men's soccer team taking on Green Bay in the first game.
