FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's basketball team looks for its second straight win on Saturday evening, when the Mastodons take on the Coyotes of South Dakota in a 7 p.m. tip-off.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the Saturday afternoon game after a much-needed 69-53 win over Denver at home, a game in which the Mastodons out-rebounded Denver 28-to-10 for the contest.
Mo Evans scored a game-high 16 points for IPFW, with Max Landis adding 13 and Joe Reed 12. Joe Edwards added eight points for the 'Dons, with Michael Calder and Steve Forbes each chipping in seven. Reed pulled down a game-high six rebounds, with Calder dishing out three assists. IPFW hit 22-of-40 shots from the field, and rebounded 12 of the 18 missed shots in the win.
This season it has been a balanced scoring effort for the Mastodons (see below "Quintet Scoring" for even more details), with Forbes leading four players in double-figure scoring at 12.8 points per game. Edwards averages 11.0, Reed 10.5 and Evans 10.3. Isaiah McCray averages 9.7 points per contest, with Max Landis raising his scoring average to 7.3 points per game.
McCray and Forbes average 6.1 and 5.9 rebounds per game, each, with Reed pulling down 5.0 boards per game. Evans has dished out a team-high 51 assists, while McCray leads the team with 23 steals and 17 blocked shots.
SCOUTING THE COYOTES
South Dakota comes into its only game of the weekend having won four of its last five games, including a 74-69 win on the road at Denver on January 4.
In the Denver win, Tyler Larson scored a team-high 22 points, hitting 6-of-15 shots from the field while Casey Kasperbauer scored 15 and James Hunter 12. Hunter, Tre Burnette, and D.J. Davis each pulled down five rebounds to lead the team, as the Coyotes out-rebounded the Pioneers 29-to-27. Trey Norris dished out a game-high four assists, with Burnette also nabbing four steals for the game-high.
This season Larson has been the team leader in scoring (16.4 points per game), rebounds (8.1 per game), and assists (3.4 per game). Bos is just off of the scoring lead at 15.6 points per game, with Kasperbauer just over the double-figure plateau averaging 10.1 points per game. Kasperbauer has hit a team-leading 42 three-point baskets this season, nearly 20 more than Bos who stands second on the team.
Larson, who is the Summit League leader in rebounds and is second in points, has grabbed 129 rebounds this season (36 offensive), while also dishing out 55 total assists. Burnette is second on the team with 80 rebounds, while Norris is second with 44 assists.

• IPFW has put together runs of 10-0 or better in nine of its 16 games this season, with the team totaling 14 different 10-0 or better runs total on the year.
