Jenkins and Schroeder Lead Mastodons at Kenny Perry Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - After darkness and weather delayed the final two holes of round two for the IPFW men's golf team, the Mastodons closed out the Kenny Perry Invitational shooting a second-round 309 and third-round 320 to finish 12th with a two-day score of 935. The 'Dons finished just two shots back of 11th place Austin Peay.
Western Kentucky hosted the tournament at the par-72, 7,319-yard The Club at Olde Stone, as Arkansas State came back on the final day to claim the team title with a two-day score of 892. Memphis' Thomas Perrot picked up the individual medalist honors with an even-par 216.
Zach Schroeder led the Mastodons on the final day with a 1-under-par 71 to finish tied for 15th with a 54-hole score of 225. Schroeder recorded four birdies on the day, three of which came on the back nine. Devin Jenkins carded a 77 in the third round to finish tied for 32nd, shooting a 231 for the tournament. Two strokes back in a tie for 38th was Jacob Groninger. Dan Wert ended the week 63rd overall, carding a two-day 246. Drake Devereux capped off the Mastodon scoring with a 259 to finish in 67th place.
The fall season comes to a close for IPFW with the two-day Dayton Flyer Invitational, October 19 and 20.
