Scouting the Mastodons
IPFW enters the match going unbeaten in its previous six matches, setting the new program record for the longest stretch without a loss. The Mastodons edged Omaha, 2-1, in their previous outing to start its best Summit League start in program history at 2-0-1. A year removed from falling in the Summit League championship match on penalty kicks, Denver enters Friday's match 0-11-1, including two consecutive overtime home losses in league play. DU's only points of the season came its third match as the Pioneers played a defensive battle against Wyoming in a scoreless draw. The Blue and White earned a gritty 2-1 Summit League win over Omaha to improve the Mastodon's league record to 2-0-1, placing them second in the league standings behind North Dakota State. Gaby Romo factored into both IPFW goals as she assisted Tessa Edwards for the opening goal of the match, followed by a late game winning goal in the 81st minute. Mastodon sophomore goalkeeper Kiley Dunning currently sits ninth nationally in NCAA Division I women's soccer for most saves (94) and 17th in saves per game (6.71). Additionally, Dunning leads the Summit League in both categories.On a Run
