
Mastodons Look to Bounce Back in Brookings

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The IPFW women's soccer team aims to bounce back after a heartbreaking 2-0 loss at North Dakota State. The Mastodons continue their Summit League weekend swing of the Dakotas when they face South Dakota State on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons
With only two regular season matches remaining, IPFW is looking to make a run and reach the Summit League tournament. The Mastodons currently sit fifth in the league, as the top four teams will earn a berth in the Summit League tournament. Rachel Good leads the Mastodons with 11 points coming off three goals and five assists. Kassidy Simpkins, Andie Lazzerini, Kallianne Mogler, and Gaby Romo are each tied for the second most points for the 'Dons as each sits with two goals and an assist for five points. South Dakota State enters the match sitting third in the Summit League standings with 10 points (3-1-1). Diana Potterveld leads SDSU with 11 points coming off five goals and an assist, while Tori Poole leads the Jackrabbits with two assists. The Blue and White and South Dakota State battled to a 3-3 draw last year in Fort Wayne on October 10. The Mastodons held a 3-2 lead after the opening 45 minutes, seeing goals from Brooke Bishire, Mayson Whitman, and former 'Don Lindsey Swope.Looking Ahead
