Men's Cross Country Make History at League Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The IPFW men's cross country team finished in fifth at the Summit League Championships in Brookings, South Dakota, the highest finish for men's team in school history.
Bret Unger lead the way for the 'Dons with a 32nd place finish out of the 55 runners and a time of 27:06.24. Gabe O'Keefe was the next to cross the finish coming in at 27:14.54 over the 8,000 meters and in 33rd place. Connor Shaffer was the third member of the Blue and White to finish coming in at 27:43.41 in 39th place.
Senior Randy McComb crossed the line in 41st place with a time of 28:00.01. Ryan Curtis had a career-best time of 28:50.22 when he nabbed the final scoring number for IPFW. Curtis finished 44th overall.
Logan Kitchen, Nathan Clary, and Kurt Unger also participated in the Summit League Championships. Kitchen came in 45th place with a time of 28:52.69, Clary had a time of 29:06.98 and came in 46th while Unger crossed the line in 48th with a time of 29:41.66.
The squad is back in action on November 14 when they travel to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
