
Cross Country Travels to Madison for Regionals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's and women's cross country teams travel to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the 2015 NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Wisconsin on Friday, November 13.

SCOUTING THE MASTODON MEN
The IPFW men's cross country had the highest finish in school history at the Summit League Championships last time out. Bret Unger led the way with a 32nd place out of the 55 runners and a time of 27:06.24. The next Mastodon to cross the finish was Gabe O'Keefe with a time of 27:14.54 coming in 33rd place. Conner Shaffer was the third member of IPFW to finish coming in 39th place with a time of 27:43.41.
Randy McComb crossed the line in 41st place with a time of 28:00.01 while Ryan Curtis nabbed the final scoring number with a career-best time of 28:50.22 coming 44th overall.
Logan Kitchen, Nathan Clary, and Kurt Unger also participated in the Summit League Championships. Kitchen finished in 45th with a time of 28:52.69, Clary came in with a time of 29:06.98 finishing in 46th place and Unger crossed the line in 48th overall with a time 29:41.66.
SCOUTING THE MASTODON WOMEN
The IPFW women's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Summit League Championships. Rebecca Sippel was the first to cross the finish for the 'Dons, she came in 19th out of the 62 runners with a time of 23:00.67. Emma Rafuse was next to finish coming in 23rd place with at time of 23:09.15.
Rachel Kacer was the third member of the Blue and White to finish coming in 43rd place with a time of 24:22.48 while Breanna Fensler finished with a time of 24:46.14 crossing the finish 45th. Caitlyn Kiekhaefer rounded out the scoring with a 47th place finish and time of 25:01.35.
Andrea Bell, Brittany Fensler, and Taylor Busch also competed in the Championships. Bell finished in 49th place with a time of 25:19.35, Fensler had a time of 25:59.98 coming 54th, and Busch came in 55th with a time of 26:09.71.
