
IPFW Plays On The Road At Austin Peay Wednesday Night

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- IPFW will play on the road at Austin Peay University of the Ohio Valley Conference in men's basketball on Wednesday night, November 18, at the Winfield Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee beginning at 8 p.m. The Mastodons (1-1) of second-year head coach Jon Coffman will be looking for their first road win of the young campaign against the host Governors (0-2). The backcourt tandem of redshirt-senior Max Landis (14.0) and junior Mo Evans (12.5) have led IPFW in scoring through the first two games. Austin Peay is coached by veteran head coach Dave Loos, who is in his 26th season at APU and 30th year overall, and are led by senior Chris Horton (12.0 points, 13.0 rebounds), who has averaged a double-double through two games.

Through two games, Austin Peay has four players averaging in double-figure scoring, including seniors Khalil Davis (13.0) and Chris Horton (12.0), along with junior John Murry (10.5) and sophomore Josh Robinson (10.0). Horton has also averaged 13.0 rebounds through the two early games. APU has averaged 58.5 points, while allowing 91.0 points.

IPFW is 1-1 overall following season-opening road loss at Valparaiso University (78-64) of the Horizon League before a home win past Division III Manchester University (85-53). Members of The Summit League, the Mastodons are coached by second-year head coach Jon Coffman, who is in his fifth season at IPFW and 19th year overall. Through two games, IPFW has three players averaging in double-figure scoring, including redshirt-senior Max Landis (14.0) and junior Mo Evans (12.5), along with freshman Kason Harrell (10.0, one game). Redshirt-sophomore Racine Talla has averaged 5.5 rebounds through the two early games to lead the Mastodons. IPFW has averaged 74.5 points, while allowing 65.5 points.

Landis opened the contest with the first of his game-high four three-point field goals, and added another three-pointer and a jumper for eight quick points as IPFW led 12-10 at 14:21. The Mastodons used a 17-3 run to take a 29-15 lead with 6:47 left in the first half, as six different players contributed, including six points from junior transfer DeAngelo Stewart, off the bench, and four from redshirt-junior Brent Calhoun, along with a three-pointer off the bench, as well, by senior Michael Calder. IPFW extended the lead to 38-21 at the intermission, getting four points each down the stretch from senior Joe Reed and junior Mo Evans.
