Mastodons Drop Road Match to Bison

FARGO, N.D. - The IPFW women's volleyball team dropped a road contest to North Dakota State 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-13).
Nicole Rightnowar led the Mastodons with nine kills on the night. Sarah Heckman hit a team-high .400 with eight kills. Madison Jaqua dished out a match-high 29 assists for the 'Dons while Olivia Hahn paced IPFW with a match-high 15 digs.
North Dakota State jumped out to a 20-9 advantage in the opening set that the Mastodons were unable to overcome despite scoring seven of the final 12 points.
The two sides fought through 13 ties and seven lead changes in the second set. Trailing 12-11, IPFW went on a 10-5 run to take its largest lead of the night. The Bison battled back scoring the final eight points of the set as the 'Dons could not stop the run.
The final frame had NDSU scoring the first two points before leading 10-3 and eventually taking the set and the match.
IPFW returns to action on November 8 for its final regular season road match at Denver with a 2 p.m. ET first serve.
