Mastodons’ Upset Bid Falls Short on Senior Day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Raphael Kotzock earned eight saves for the second-consecutive match, but a second half goal was all that was needed as the IPFW men's soccer team fell to No. 7 Denver, 1-0, on Friday night.
The Pioneers earned the lone goal of the match in the 68th minute after Frank Carsonie scored from the right side of the net. The play initially began when a shot from Reagan Dunk hit the left post, followed by Andrew Shinyashiki receiving the ball, passing it to Karsten Hanlin, and finishing with a short cross to Carsonie in front of the net.
Zach Tom and Austin West each had a shot on goal for the 'Dons while both of Corey Tom's shots went wide of the net.
Prior to the match, Randy Maksimik, Jose Rodriguez, Bill Whitcomb, Darnell Parris, Austin West, and Corey Tom were honored as a part of Senior Day.
