SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Junior Mo Evans made a game-winning 16-foot jumper from the left elbow with 2.3-seconds remaining to lead IPFW to a thrilling 75-73 men's college basketball road victory at Cal Poly of the Big West Conference Thursday night at the Mott Athletics Center in San Luis Obispo, California. Evans finished with 11 points for the Mastodons (7-2), who are off to their best start to a season as a Division I program, while redshirt-senior Max Landis led the visitors with a game-high 16 points. Luke Meikle scored 16 points, off the bench, for the host Mustangs (4-3), who had their eight-game, non-conference home winning streak stopped. IPFW will play again on Saturday afternoon, December 5, at Utah of the Pac-12 Conference at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah beginning at 2 p.m. ET., to be televised on the Pac-12 Network.

Cal Poly answered with six-straight points from David Nwaba to lead 11-8 at 14:33, but the Mastodons battled back with a 12-5 run to lead 20-16 with 12:25 on the clock, getting points from four different players, including four by Reed and a three-point field goal from redshirt-freshman John Konchar. IPFW extended the run to 17-8 for a 25-19 lead at 11:08, capped by another three-pointer, this one from senior Michael Calder, off the bench. The Mustangs rallied back and finally tied it at 35-35 with 3:29 left until the break, but the Mastodons closed the period strong by outscoring Cal Poly 14-6 to lead 49-41 at halftime. Reed (11), Evans (9) and Calder (8) led the first-half scoring efforts.
