Consistency Key For Men's Golf After Day One

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After the first round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, the IPFW men's golf team sits tied for 23rd with a score of 306 on day one. The Mastodons are tied with Eastern Kentucky and sit four strokes back of 16th place.
Hosted by The College of William & Mary at the par-70 River Course at the Kingsmill Resort, the course is being played at 6,765 yards. Loyola and Radford are tied for the team lead with rounds of 283 to begin the three-day tournament. Jack Sides of High Point and Nick Pandelena of Boston College are the co-leaders after 18 holes, shooting rounds of 3-under-par 67 to lead the 159-player field.
David Watterson led the 'Dons on the afternoon, carding a 3-over-par 73 to sit in a tie for 40th place. One stroke back in a tie for 50th is Devin Jenkins. Only two strokes separates the final three Mastodon golfers after the first round. Drake Devereux is currently tied for 113th after a round of 79. Oliver Gibson shot an 80 to finish tied for 127th while Clark Tiller closed out the team scoring in a tie for 133rd with an 81.
