Mastodons Ninth After Day One at Summit League Championship

SEASIDE, Calif. - After the first round of the 2015 Summit League Championship, the IPFW women's golf team sits in ninth place with a team score of 341.
Hosted at the par-72 Bayonet Golf Course, the course was played at 6,025 yards for the round. Denver and Oral Roberts are tied heading into the second round with team scores of 307. Paola Aviles of Oral Roberts and Jessica Carty of Denver sit tied atop the individual leaderboard with rounds of 2-over-par 74.
Leading the Mastodons on the day was Allison Curtis with a 6-over-par 78 to sit in a tie for 11th place. Curtis made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 3 and 4 and ended her round with six consecutive pars. Sydney Bailey ended the morning in a tie for 37th position with a round of 87. One stroke back in a tie for 39th are Ashton Taft and Monica Dorner. Taft birdied the par-3, 150-yard No. 17 while Dorner made birdie on No. 16, a 326-yard par-4. Brenna Sherwood rounded out the scoring for the 'Dons in 44th place with a 91, including a birdie on the par-3, 369-yard No. 13.
