Watterson Leads Golfers at Day Two of League Championship

LOMPOC, Calif. - After the second round of the Summit League Championship, the IPFW men's golf team remains in ninth place with a score of 653. The Mastodons carded a 314 on day two and are 26 strokes back of eighth place Western Illinois.
Hosted at the par-72 La Purisima Golf Course, the course is being played at 7,055 yards. Oral Roberts continues to lead after day two with a score of 606. Parker Dolezal of Oral Roberts also continues to sit atop the individual leaderboard after 36 holes with an even-par 144.
David Watterson and Daniel Shepard paced the Mastodon team in a tie for 31st with scores of 161, respectively. Watterson recorded his third birdie of the tournament, coming on the 130-yard par-3, No. 3. Finishing the day tied roe 36th is Clark Tiller with a two-day total of 163. Heading into the final day, Devin Jenkins sits in a tie for 43rd carding a 36-hole score of 168. Jenkins recorded the other IPFW birdie in the round on the par-5, 532-yard No. 15. Drake Devereux rounded out the team scoring for the afternoon to sit in 45th place, shooting a 174 through two days.
The final round of the Summit League Championship will have IPFW teeing off No. 1 beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
