Women's Soccer to Face Off Against Penguins in Ohio

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's soccer team returns to the soccer pitch on Friday evening with a trip to Youngstown, Ohio, to take on the Youngstown State Penguins in a 7 p.m. first touch.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons will look to rebound from a 5-0 loss to the Saint Louis Billikens, a member of the Atlantic-10 Conference, on Sunday in a hot, humid contest in the Gateway City.
Kallianne Mogler and Brooke Bishir have each scored a goal for the Mastodons, while Rachel Good has dished out two assists, and Andie Lazzerini one.
In goal, Kiley Dunning has played in 453 minutes this season, and has a 3.18 goals against average and 37 saves while Haley Lydon has played in just over 87 minutes with six saves and a 4.12 goals against average.
SCOUTING THE PENGUINS
After winning its first two matches of the season - each by 1-0 scores - Youngstown State has hit a lull. The Penguins have fallen in each of their last four games, most recently by a 1-0 score at home against Robert Morris.
Three players have scored a goal for YSU, as Allison Green, Karlee Kline, and Madison Hughes have each found the back of the net, while Katie Hackos has the team's only assist.
Katie Montgomery and Elizabeth Balgoyen have split time in goal this season, as each has given up three goals while Balgoyen has a team-best 16 saves and a .842 save percentage while Montgomery has two shutouts and a 0.87 goals against average.
LAST MEETING
After the teams played to a scoreless first half, the teams combined for three goals over the first 11 minutes of the second period, as IPFW's Felicia Jones and Tara O'Toole each scored to put the Mastodons ahead 2-0. Youngstown State answered with goals from Cori Stark and Allison Ludwig, the last of the two coming in the 85th minute of the match, knotting the game and sending it to extra periods. With just under three and a half minutes left in the second overtime, IPFW's Tylar Allison found the back of the net from 24 yards out to give the Mastodons the 3-2 double overtime victory.
