Rightnowar Named To All-Tournament Team In Loss

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The IPFW women's volleyball team dropped its final match of the Holiday Inn Classic to tournament host Indiana State 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-16). Mastodon freshman Nicole Rightnowar was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Rightnowar led the 'Dons finishing with a match-high 15 kills. Somer Johnson ended the night with her third straight double-double, 12 kills and 11 digs to go along with three blocks. Madison Jaqua led all players with 35 assists and added eight digs.
Olivia Hahn made a match-high 11 digs as Este Stoffel and Victoria Mills each added five. Sarah Heckman finished with three blocks to lead IPFW. Mills and Clair Marshall each served up a match-high two aces.
The Mastodons took an early 6-2 advantage in the opening set before Indiana State began to chip away at the lead. With the score tied 23-23, the Sycamores won three of the next four points to take the set. IPFW again took an early lead in the second set, using a six-point run to claim a 9-2 advantage. The set came down to the final points again and with the score knotted 25-25 the Sycamores won the next two points to take the set. The 'Dons scored three straight points to start the third set but ISU countered with a 5-1 run to take the lead and eventually the set.
IPFW returns to action on September 16 at Ball State for a 7 p.m. match.
