
Jenkins Leads Mastodons to Ninth Place at Kenny Perry Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - On the final day of the WKU Kenny Perry Invitational, the Fort Wayne men's golf team shot a combined 307 to finish the tournament in ninth place with a two-day score of 911. The Mastodons finished two shots back of eight place Southern Mississippi and came in ahead of Belmont, Florida Gulf Coast and Tennessee Tech.
Hosted by Western Kentucky at the par-72 The Club at Olde Stone, the tournament was played at 7,219 yards. Eastern Kentucky won the team trophy with a 54-hole score of 4-under-par 860. Billy Tom Sargent from Western Kentucky won the individual medalist honors with a two-day total of 8-under-par 208, to lead the 69-player field.
Devin Jenkins carded the lowest score of the round for the 'Dons, a 1-over-par 73, to lead the team in a tie for 18th place with a score of 221. Tying for 39th were Zach Schroeder and Cody White with scores of 229 for the week. David Watterson fired a 76 on the final day to finish the invitational tied for 52nd at 233. Keegan Bronnenberg rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons with a 239 for the tournament to finish in 63rd place.
Fort Wayne will play in its final tournament of its Fall schedule October 17 and 18 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
