
Bronnenberg Paces 'Dons on First Day of Flyer Invite

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Keegan Bronnenberg carded a 1-over-par 72 to lead the Fort Wayne men's golf team during the opening round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational as the Mastodons shot a combined team score of 303 to finish tied for fifth place.
Hosted by Dayton at the NCR Country Club - North Course, the par-71 tournament is being played at 7,100 yards. Michigan holds a five-shot lead over the field heading into the final round. Four players sit tied atop the 112-player field with a 1-under-par 70 for the round.
The 'Dons stand two strokes back of Morehead State and three back of third place Miami (Ohio). Both of Bronnenberg's birdies came on the back-nine, as he finished it at 2-under-par, and ended the day tied for sixth place.
Devin Jenkins, David Watterson and Zach Schroeder all tied for 39th place after carding rounds of 77. Jenkins recorded a pair of birdies on the day, coming on Nos. 10 and 16, while Schroeder birdied No. 6. Josh Keating wrapped up the team scoring for the Mastodons with an 80 to tie for 76th.
Fort Wayne has a pair of individuals competing at the tournament in Tyler Meyer and Cody White. Meyer carded an 84 for the round and is tied for 102nd while White shot an 87 and sits in a tie for 108th.
The final round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday, October 18.
