
Bronnenberg and Mastodons Turn in Top-Five Performances

KETTERING, Ohio - In its final tournament of the 2016 season, the Fort Wayne men's golf team finished tied for fifth at the Dayton Flyer Invitational with a 305 and shoot 608 for the tournament.
Hosted by Dayton at the NCR Country Club - North Course, the par-71 tournament was played at 7,100 yards. Michigan took home to team trophy with a 36-hole score of 580. Ian Kim claimed individual medalist honors by defeated Michigan teammate Nick Carlson on the first hole of a playoff after both golfers carded an even-par 142 for the tournament.
The Mastodons tied Miami (Ohio) and Detroit for fifth, as the trio finished two shots back of Butler for fourth.
Keegan Bronnenberg turned in a top-five performance for the 'Dons with a 74 on the final day to finish tied for fifth with a two-day score of 146. Zach Schroeder finished with a 153 and tied for 38th. Devin Jenkins and David Watterson were separated by one stroke, with scores of 154 and 155, respectively. Jenkins tied for 42nd while Watterson was tied for 52nd. Josh Keating capped off the team scoring for Fort Wayne with a 159 and tie for 82nd.
A pair of Mastodons competed as individuals during the tournament. Cody White finished tied for 104th with a 165 while Tyler Meyer was tied for 107th, shooting a 166.
