DENVER, Colo. - The Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell 5-0 to Denver at the CIBER Field on Friday night.
The Mastodons (3-13-2, 0-5-2 Summit League) could not overcome a brace from Francesca Garzelloni, whose first goal came in minute 27. Her second came in the 52nd, just 55 seconds after a goal from Riley Welch, to make the score 4-0. Karina Fredette scored the final goal of the game, with just 90 seconds left in regulation. Denver's Angelica Pacheco was credited with the game-winning goal, turning from 22 yards out and putting the ball in the right upper 90 in minute 18.
Lindsay Yankasky and Katrina Sutherly both came off the bench to record a shot each.
Haley Lydon started in goal, playing the entirety of the first half. Amanda Cook logged the second 45 minutes, getting five saves for her record.
Denver improved to 7-9-1, 4-2-1 with the victory over the Mastodons.
The Mastodons will conclude their regular season on Sunday (Oct. 30) as they visit the South Dakota Coyotes at 1 p.m.
