Mastodons Drop Dual Match to Salukis

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Playing in its first dual match since 2011, the IPFW women's golf team dropped its match at Southern Illinois 304-348.
Played at the par-72, 5,934-yard Hickory Ridge Golf Course, the Salukis' Hanna Netisingha and Mattie Lindner turned in the lowest scores on the day with a 3-over-par 75. The two teams played a traditional stroke-play dual meet, counting the top four scores on the five-player teams.
Brenna Sherwood led the Mastodons on the day, shooting an 82. Two strokes back for the 'Dons was Paige Bird with an 84. Madison Chesnutt finished the day with an 89. Rounding out the team scoring for IPFW was Jenna Kurosky with a 93 and Abigail Carlsen with a 94.
Three golfers played as individuals for the 'Dons. Maggie Connelly carded a 94, Hannah Jennings shot a 96, and Monica Dorner finished with a 97.
IPFW next competes at the Don Benbow Invitational March 7 and 8, at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, in Jacksonville, Florida.
