IPFW is ranked among the Top 25 for a record ninth-straight week, and dropped four spots from No. 14 last week, it's highest ever ranking in the poll. The Mastodons are enjoying their finest season as a Division I program (2001-02), surpassing the 22-9 regular season finish of 2013-14 (25-11). The 23 regular season wins equal the most in the history of the sport at the school, attained once previously in 1992-93 when the Division II 'Dons closed the regular season 23-4 before dropping two games in the NCAA Regional to finish 23-6.
Valparaiso (26-5) is again ranked No. 1 in this week's poll that also includes Indiana school Evansville (No. 13, 23-8) and Summit League regular season co-champion South Dakota State (No. 12, 23-7), the second seed for the upcoming league tournament.
