Women's Golf Begins Spring Season at Match Play Tournament

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - The IPFW women's golf team kicks off its 2016 spring season on February 8 at the two-day Women's Mid-American Match Play Challenge. The Mastodons will be seeded 12th and face No. 5 seed Western Michigan in the first match. In the second round, IPFW will face either Northern Illinois or the loser of the Oakland-Ohio match.

Format: Match play with three 18-hole rounds. At least one match on Monday and one on Tuesday.
Feb. 8 - First Round: vs Western Michigan: 8:05 a.m. off No. 1 tee / Second Round: 12:35 or 1:10 p.m.
Feb. 9 - Tee times will be determines by first/second round results, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

COMPETING TEAMS
IPFW will compete against 11 other teams. The Mastodons and host Bowling Green will be joined by: Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Oakland, Dayton, Florida Gulf Coast, Central Michigan, Akron, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Ohio

THE COURSE
The 18-hole Royal Lakes Course at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club is a private golf course that opened in 2007. Royal Lakes was designed with all skill levels in mind to be forgiving, yet, it is quite challenging for the most skilled players measuring 7,320 yards from the Championship tees.
