Jenkins Shoots Even-Par In Second Round as Mastodons Sit 10th

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Through 36 holes at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, the IPFW men's golf team sits in 10th place with rounds of 306-300=606 for the day.
George Mason is hosting the event at the par-72, 6,966-yard El Campéon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Resort. South Florida, No. 18 in the Golfstat rankings, leads the 18-team tournament by 13 strokes over Texas Tech with a 36-hole score of 8-under-par 568. Chase Koepka also of South Florida leads the 102-play field by two strokes shooting a 7-under-par 137 for the day.
The Mastodons sit four strokes back of ninth place Lipscomb, which is ranked 50th by Golfstat. Devin Jenkins carded an even-par 72 during his second round to finish the day with a score of 149 and sit in a tie for 29th place. Jenkins recorded a team-high six birdies on the day, including four during his afternoon round. Jacob Groninger and Josh Keating shot identical rounds of 76-76-152 to end the day tied for 42nd overall. One stroke back in a tie for 53rd is Zach Schroeder with rounds of 77 and 76. Finishing the day tied of 90th is Oliver Gibson, closing out the team scoring with rounds of 81-83=164.
Playing as individuals, Daniel Shepard carded scores of 80-77-157 to finish tied for 63rd while Dan Wert shot rounds of 78-83-161 and enters the final round tied for 79th.
The final round of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
