Men's Golf Sixth After Opening Day of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After the first day of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, the IPFW men's golf team sits in sixth place out of 24 teams with a combined score of 290.
Hosted by The College of William & Mary at the par-70, 6,765-yard Kingsmill Resort - The River Course, Tennessee leads the team leaderboard by three strokes with a 284. Charles Huntzinger of Penn State sits atop the 125-player field with a 3-under-par 67 through 18 holes.
The Mastodons sit two strokes back of fourth place Loyola-Maryland and Appalachian State. Jacob Groninger led the 'Dons on the day with a 1-under-par 69 to end the round tied for third place. Zach Schroeder carded a 2-over-par 72 and enters day two tied for 23rd. Devin Jenkins and Dan Wert are separated by one stroke, recording rounds of 74 and 75, respectively. Jenkins finished the day tied for 42nd while Wert is tied for 56th. Rounding out the team scoring for IPFW was Clark Tiller, shooting a 78 to finish his round tied for 95th.
The second round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate will have the Mastodons beginning play March 21 at 10:58 a.m. off the No. 10 tee.
