Men's Golf Play Suspended During Second Round at IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The spring weather continued to hinder IPFW teams as the men's golf team fell victim to strong winds at the Hoosier Invitational as play was suspended in the second round. Through the first 18 holes, the Mastodons sit in 15th place with a team score of 316.

Hosted by Indiana at the par-71 Indiana University Golf Course, the tournament is being played at 6,813 yards. Western Illinois holds a three-shot lead heading into Sunday's play over Ohio. Lyle Burns of Bradley carded a 4-under-par 67 to finish the round atop the individual leaderboard.

The 'Dons head into the final day two shots behind 14th place Indiana. Zach Schroeder led the way for IPFW with a 77 to finish the day tied for 35th place. One shot back in a tie for 42nd is Josh Keating. Devin Jenkins and Jacob Groninger are separated by one stroke with rounds of 80 and 81, respectively. Jenkins sits in a tie for 53rd overall while Groninger is in 60th position. Rounding out the team scoring for the Mastodons with an 85 for the day is Dan Wert in 75th place.

The second and final round of the Hoosier Invitational will resume at 10 a.m. on April 3.
