Jenkins and Keating Lead Mastodons at Hoosier Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team closed out the Hoosier Invitational in 13th place with a 301 on the final day to finish the weekend with a combined 617 team score.
Hosted by Indiana at the par-71 Indiana University Golf Course, the tournament was played at 6,813 yards. Western Illinois captured the team title with a two-day score of 578. There was a five-way tie for individual medalist honors at even-par 142: Peyton White (Ohio), Lyle Burns (Bradley), Jake Brown (Indiana), and Zach Burry and Trent Wallace (Illinois State).
The Mastodons finished ahead of Summit League rival IUPUI and seven shots back of 11th place George Washington and Drake.
Devin Jenkins and Josh Keating led the 'Dons on the weekend, finishing tied for 36th a 36-hole score of 153. One shot back in a tie for 43rd was Zach Schroeder. Jacob Groninger ended the tournament tied for 52nd with a two-day score of 157. Capping off the scoring for the Mastodons in a tie for 72nd was Dan Wert, shooting a 162 for the invitational.
IPFW's final tournament before the Summit League Championships will be the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State April 15 and 16.
