MUNCIE, Ind. – The Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to the Ball State Cardinals 2-0 on Sunday (Aug. 28) at the Briner Sports Complex.
Fort Wayne's best goal-scoring opportunity in the first half came on a threatening shot from Chloee Foor with 23:58 left. Foor ended her day with two shots, both of which were on goal. Malissa Hofmeister and Mayson Whitman also added two shots, and Kallianne Mogler, Gaby Romo and Katrina Sutherly each contributed an attempt.
Ball State's Lauren Roll scored off a header in the 23rd minute to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead. In the 30th minute, Emily Scott netted a goal on her own shot that rebounded off a save.
Kiley Dunning logged 90 minutes in goal, recording 13 saves for the afternoon.
The Mastodons (1-3-0) will be back in action on Friday (Sept. 2) at 11:30 a.m. in Fort Wayne as they take on Youngstown State (1-1-1) at Warrior Athletic Field.
