Mastodons Earn Second Place at UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's cross country finished second at the UNC Asheville Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 10). The Mastodons totaled 63 points in the 8K race, behind only first place Western Carolina's 48.
The 'Dons had five runners in the top 10, helping them edge third place Wofford by 17 points.
For the second consecutive week, Logan Kitchen was Fort Wayne's best performer. He took fourth overall with a time of 26:42.29. Teammate Sam Williamson earned seventh, crossing the finish line with a time of 27:09.68.
Gabe O'Keefe took 16th (27:32.55), Kurt Unger was 17th (27:33.39) and Bret Unger earned 19th (27:41.07).
Alex Barton totaled a time of 28:00.35 for 27th. Robert Peck recorded a time of 29:03.64 to take 41st.
The Mastodons are back in action on Sept. 16 at the Bowling Green Invite.
