DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Zach Schroeder finished one shot off the win at the BCU Gary Freeman Spring Invitational, as he finished third to lead the Fort Wayne men's golf team to a fourth place finish. The Mastodons shot a two-day score of 936 to finish six shots back of third place.

Hosted by Bethune-Cookman at the par-72, 6,984-yard LPGA International, Lynn won the team title with a 54-hole score of 874. Martin Cancino and Manuel Torres both also of Lynn tied for medalist honors at 1-over-par 217.

Schroeder began the tournament with a 3-under-par 69 and finished the week with a combined score of 2-over-par 218 to finish third. Devin Jenkins tied for 20th with a two-day score of 233. Finishing the week tied for 30th was Cody White at 240. Tied for 43rd was David Watterson shooting a 54-hole score of 246. Josh Keating rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons in 52nd place while carding a two-day score of 250.

Dan Wert competed as an individual for the 'Dons and finished tied for 48th with a 248.

Fort Wayne next competes at the two-day Lonnie Barton Invitational March 6 and 7 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
