Mastodons Finish Second in Florida Finale

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team finished runner-up at the Lonnie Barton Invitational, carding a 307 on the final day to finish with a 36-hole score of 614.
Hosted by LIU-Brooklyn at the par-72, 6,987-yard LPGA International, Longwood captured the team title with a two-day score of 591. Nick Contini also of Longwood earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 143.
Zach Schroeder paced the Mastodons for the week, finishing in seventh place with a score of 151. Josh Keating shot a 154 over two days to place 16th. Cody White finished tied for 18th overall with a 36-hole score of 156. Dan Wert jumped 14 spots on the final day to end tied for 23rd with a two-day score of 157. Devin Jenkins capped off the team scoring for the 'Dons with a 160 to tie for 30th overall.
Playing as an individual, David Watterson carded a 153 to finish the week tied for 12th.
Fort Wayne returns to action for the three-day Kingsmill Intercollegiate March 19-21.
