Men's Golf Seventh After Opening Day of League Championship

NEWTON, Kan. - Through day one of the Summit League Championship, the Fort Wayne men's golf team is in seventh place with scores of 304-302-606.

Played at the par-72, 6,733-yard Sand Creek Station Golf Club, Oral Roberts leads after day one with a 36-hole score of 586. Grant Smith from South Dakota State holds a one shot lead on the individual side with a two-round total of even-par 144.

Fort Wayne is four strokes behind sixth place IUPUI and only nine strokes separate fourth place from seventh.

Zach Schroeder leads the way for the Mastodons in a tie for fifth with rounds of 75-72-147. Schroeder carded four birdies on the day, three of which came during the second round. Devin Jenkins and David Watterson are tied for 19th after identical rounds of 76-75-151 for the day. Watterson led the 'Dons with six birdies on the day, tied for fourth most among the field. Cody White and Josh Keating also shot identical scores with 77-80-157 and are tied for 38th place.

The final round of the Summit League Championship begin tomorrow, May 2, at 9 a.m. ET.
