Fort Wayne Tops Grace 1-0 in Exhibition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's soccer team competed in another exhibition match on Tuesday (Aug. 15) against the Grace Lancers at Hefner Field, ending with a 1-0 victory for the Mastodons.
The first half was quiet, ending with no scoring. Kendall Quinn recorded two shots, and the only on-target attempt for the Mastodons in the first half. Haley Lydon played the first half in goal, snagging three saves.
Freshman Jessica Schoenfeldt scored quickly in the second half, heading in a corner kick from Hannah Kroger in the 49th minute. Fort Wayne led in corner kicks 8-1 and shots 15-8.
Emma Gaggioli came off the bench for the second half to see her first collegiate action and save two shots.
The Mastodons are back in action on Friday at Ball State at 5 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
