SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (0-7-0, 0-0-0 Summit League)
Fort Wayne enters the weekend 0-7-0, but have four matches that have been decided by one goal. Four different 'Dons have scored a goal this season; Kendall Quinn, Chloee Foor, Hannah Kroger and Jessica Schoenfeldt each have a goal to their credit. Breanna Buche, Kallianne Mogler and Gabrielle Fanning each have one assist on the year.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES (3-3-1, 0-1-0 Missouri Valley Conference)
Indiana State enters the weekend 3-3-1, and will welcome the 'Dons after returning from a 3-2 loss at Missouri Valley foe Loyola. The Sycamores have wins over Green Bay, Northern Kentucky and UIC. Two players lead the team with two goals each on the year, while five other players have a goal each.
WHEN WE LAST MET
The two squads met last season, when the Sycamores took a 3-0 victory in Fort Wayne.
FIRST HALF FIGHTERS
The Mastodons have held five of its last six opponents scoreless in the first half of each contest. Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Youngstown State, Western Michigan and Valparaiso were all unable to score on the 'Dons in the first 45 minutes of play.
FRESH LEGS
Two freshmen, Jessica Schoenfeldt and Gabrielle Fanning, have started in all seven contests for the Mastodons. Kailyn Wade has two starts, while Baylee Kramer has one. Kramer started the most recent match against Valparaiso to add to the defensive line.
SWIFT SCORERS
The 'Dons scored a pair of goals in Friday's (Sept 8) matchup at Eastern Illinois within 28 seconds of each other. Chloee Foor scored the first and Jessica Schoenfeldt scored the second. These were the fastest back-to-back goals since 2004, when Kristin Mahoney and Timeka Bailey scored two goals in 25 seconds against Cleveland State.
LOOKING BACK
Fort Wayne fell to Valparaiso 4-1 in Fort Wayne on Sunday (Sept 10). Hannah Kroger scored the goal for the Mastodons, which at the time, gave the Mastodons the lead.
UP NEXT
Fort Wayne will return home for another Sunday contest on September 17, when Robert Morris visits Hefner Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. This will be the second all-time contest between the 'Dons and the Colonials.
